Week 4: Email Marketing

According to Convinceandconvert.com, 44% of all email recipients make at least one purchase in a year based on or due to an email they get, which could be promotions or otherwise. In other words, one third of your target audience will not open the email you send them if they are not impressed with the subject line (Technology Advice, 2015).

According to a report published by Epsilon (2015), approximately half of the target audience or mailing list will not be accessing their email accounts or wouldn’t be opening the emails. In effect, they would be inactive. This may appear disappointing but it is actually encouraging.

Business Email Marketing Survey (Infusionsoft 2012) states that for small and midsize businesses conducted in 2013, 56% of businesses using email marketing said that they would increase their use, obviously owing to the rewards they had reaped.

Email has become one of the most popular forms of communication. In 2010, there were an estimated 90 trillion emails sent out worldwide Convince and Convert.(2015). That breaks down to 2.8 million emails sent every second. These numbers are gigantic, but not surprising when you consider how important the mail in all forms has been throughout history. (Convince and Convert, 2015).

According to a survey conducted by Epsilon.(2012), 82% of U.S. adults use the Internet, and email is one of the fastest, cheapest and easiest ways for marketers to connect with customers.
